Granite is a 100% natural igneous stone with unique, organic speckling. Quartz is an engineered material (93% quartz mineral, 7% resins/pigments), providing highly uniform colors and low maintenance. Quartzite is a metamorphic natural stone that combines the dramatic marble-like look with extreme granite-like hardness. Granite and quartzite are cut directly from quarries, while quartz is manufactured.
Our premium Granite countertops are highly non-porous naturally and do not absorb liquids easily, meaning they do not require heavy sealants. Quartz is engineered to be entirely non-porous and never requires sealing. Natural Quartzite is porous naturally; we apply a heavy seal during installation, and we recommend a simple wipe-on sealer application every 1 to 2 years depending on usage.
Daily cleaning is simple: use warm water, a soft microfiber cloth, and a few drops of mild, pH-neutral dish soap. Avoid abrasive scrubbers, harsh chemical cleaners, bleach, or acidic liquids (like vinegar, lemon juice, or window cleaner) as these can break down sealants or dull the stone finish over time.
A template appointment is where our measurement specialists visit your project site to capture precise laser coordinates of your cabinets. This ensures your stone is cut to match wall deviations, sink openings, and plumbing fixtures. To prepare, your base cabinets must be permanently installed, level, and completely cleared of existing countertops, plumbing, and debris.
Typically, the timeline from our template appointment to final installation is 7 to 14 business days. This timeframe allows us to cut the stone slabs in our Belle Plaine SK facility, polish the custom edge profile, prepare sink cutouts, and schedule our professional installation crew to install the pieces at your property.
